“GET LIMED!” It’s a slogan repeated by Lime Painting customers who benefit from residential services ranging from full rain gutter replacement to kitchen cabinet restoration. I had the privilege of meeting Nick Lopez, president and founder of Lime Paining, and after our conversation, I realized that Nick’s values are his mission.
In fact, GET LIMED! is more than a slogan, it is an acronym for the following values: gratitude, enthusiasm, tenacity, love, integrity, mission, excellence, and discipline. About being featured in 12 Amazing Franchise Opportunities, Nick spoke from his heart saying:

Hard work, discipline, expertise, systems, values-driven, and team-focused– this is a great list of ideals. Business thrives on these ideals, yet, we know it isn’t just ideals that create success. So, what’s Nick’s secret? He told me! I’ve expanded on his three secrets to success:
- Enduring Pain: As we set out on new ventures, we know it’s not going to be easy. Frankly, it’s difficult to anticipate how hard it can actually get. Nick suggests that having a high tolerance for pain ultimately separates those who succeed from those who don’t.
- Exerting Willpower: Business isn’t for pansies! (Those are my words, not Nick’s.) As leaders, our probability of success increases at the same rate our commitment and determination increases. Along the way, we are tempted to give up. Discipline to try again and again…and again moves us closer to our goals even if it takes a while.
- Maintaining Optimism: New hope and anticipation set the tone for success. If I could guarantee all your efforts would pay off in exactly three months, what would change? Would you think and act differently? If we believe we can’t fail, it simply changes how we approach opportunities and our level of confidence.
Values and ideas are important to acknowledge and implement. It also takes a high pain threshold, great determination, and a positive attitude. Whether you are refacing stucco or building fences, like Nick’s team, we have to decide what is most important and stick to it!
